Prima delle nominations ai Golden Globes che saranno annunciate domani pomeriggio, oggi è il turno della Screen Actors Guild, il sindacato degli attori, il più potente ad Hollywood.
Le candidature sono piuttosto sorprendenti, soprattutto per il Best Ensemble, dove troviamo oltre al favorito Spotlight e a La grande scommessa, tre film completamente fuori dal radar dei pronostici: Beasts of No Nation della Netflix, Straight Outta Compton e Trumbo con Bryan Cranston, nei panni del grande sceneggiatore finito nella lista nera.
Niente menzione per alcuni dei film meglio interpretati dell’anno: The Hateful Eight o The Revenant, Carol o Steve Jobs… la scelta è discutibile, a dirla tutta, anche perchè Straight Outta Compton non ha ricevuto altre candidature, Beasts è stato segnalato solo per Idris Elba non protagonista, La grande scommessa solo per Christian Bale non protagonista e lo stesso Spotlight è stato ricordato solo per la non protagonista Rachel McAdams.
Alla fine quindi l’unico ad aver conquistato più di due candidature è Trumbo, distribuito dalla piccolissima Bleecker Street. Ancora inedito in Italia, il film però ha un modestissimo 60/100 su Metacritic, segno che proprio memorabile non dev’essere…
Tra gli attori Cranston se la vedrà con Di Caprio, Depp, Fassbender e Redmayne, mentre tra le attrici è gara aperta tra Blanchett, Mirren, Larson, Ronan e, a sorpresa, Sarah Silverman.
Dopo una valanga di nominations per gli attori degli suoi ultimi tre film, David O.Russell questa volta resta completamente a secco con il suo Joy.
Nessuna candidatura anche per Mad Max: Fury Road e The Martian. Non ce l’ha fatta Charlotte Rampling per 45 anni.
Helen Mirren è nominata sia per Woman in Gold, sia per Trumbo.
