Bisogna dire con tuta franchezza che i premi assegnati dal sindacato attori nella notte sono tra i peggiori di una stagione con poche certezze.
Il miglior ensemble ad un film mieloso e ricattatorio come CODA, remake dell’ancor più stucchevole francese La famiglia Bélier, è una scelta priva di significato, in una categoria che vantava peraltro la presenza di House of Gucci, probabilmente il film peggio recitato del decennio, giustamente ignorato dagli Oscar.
Non meno sbagliati i premi ai migliori attori, Will Smith e Jessica Chastain, il primo capace di un’unica contrita espressione in un film catatonico e paternalista come Una famiglia vincente – King Richard, la seconda, coperta da un trucco prostetico più adeguato ad un pessimo show televisivo, alle prese con un personaggio disgustoso, spacciato per il solito santino neo-femminista, dalla suffragetta del cinema americano contemporaneo.
Un po’ più centrati i premi televisivi, che riconoscono il talento di Michael Keaton e Kate Winslet e del gruppo di Succession e dei comprimari di Squid Game: non ci voleva molto, in verità…
