Uncut Gems domina le nominations agli Independent Spirit Awards

Il grande vincitore delle nominations agli Independent Spirit Awards è la A24, che ha conquistato ben 18 citazioni, con i suoi film del 2019 e due candidature tra i cinque miglior film indie, con The Farewell e Uncut Gems.

A 10 candidature c’è la Neon, quindi Amazon a 8 e Netflix a 7: anche qui il peso dello streaming si fa sentire.

Il film dei fratelli Safdie con Adam Sandler guida il gruppo dei film più nominati con 5 candidature assieme a The Lighthouse di Robert Eggers e a Honey Boy che racconta la giovinezza di Shia LaBeouf.

A quattro c’è invece  Give Me Liberty, presentato alla Quinzaine e diretto da Kirill Mikhanovsky.

Tra i cinque miglior film indie ci sono La vita nascosta di Malick, lo sconosciuto Clemency di Chinonye Chukwu, The Farewell di Lulu Wang, Storia di un matrimonio di Baumbach e Uncut Gems dei Safdie.

Tra le opere prime c’è anche La rivincita delle sfigate di Olivia Wilde.

Imbarazzante la nominations a Lorene Scafaria per Le ragazze di Wall Street.

La premiazione, sulla spiaggia di Santa Monica, vicino al molo, sarà l’8 febbraio prossimo.
