Nonostante le sue chance di nominations siano molto diminuite nel corso del mese di dicembre, anche in ragione di un’uscita in pochissime sale, negli ultimi giorni del mese, il film dei fratelli Coen, presentato a Cannes in anteprima, ha i suoi estimatori.
La National Society of Film Critics ha scelto A proposito di Davis come miglior film dell’anno ed ha premiato i due fratelli come migliori registi. Oscar Isaac è il miglior attore per il medesimo film, mentre Cate Blanchett vince l’ennesimo premio come miglior attrice.
I due non protagonisti sono James Franco e Jennifer Lawrence, mentre la migliore sceneggiatura è quella di Before Midnight ed il miglior film straniero La vita di Adele, che però agli Oscar non ci sarà.
