Il miglior attore è Bruce Dern per Nebraska, mentre Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine) e Adele Exarcopoulos (La vita di Adele) si dividono quello per la migliore attrice.
Parità anche tra i non protagonisti: James Franco per Spring Breakers e Jared Leto per Dallas Buyers Club, mentre Lupita Nyong’o si impone per 12 years a slave.
La vita di Adele è il miglior film straniero, ma La grande bellezza è secondo.
Gravity vince anche il premio per la migliore regia, la fotografia ed il montaggio.
