Neanche Marco Mueller ai tempi delle sue Mostre veneziane aveva aggiunto strada facendo ben 11 film al cartellone principale.
E’ invece quello che è successo a Cannes quest’anno. La conferenza stampa di presentazione del 12 aprile era stata piuttosto avara di conferme. In realtà dopo appena sette giorni Fremaux ha rilanciato con un’informata di nuovi titoli, di cui ben tre in concorso, tre ad Un certain regard e gli altri cinque fuori concorso.
Il concorso di Cannes 71 si arricchisce, con due nomi imprevedibili, il francese Yann Gonzales con Knife+Heart, ambientato nel mondo del porno gay degli anni ’70 ed interpretato da Vanessa Paradis, quindi con Ayka del russo Sergey Dvortsevoy, che mancava da Cannes da un decennio. Sono due opere seconde e due debutti nel concorso della Croisette.
Il terzo film è l’atteso nuovo film di Nuri Bilge Ceylan, The Wild Pear Tree.
Grossi nomi anche fuori concorso, con The Man Who Killed Don Quixote che sarà il film di chiusura del festival, con il ritorno di Lars Von Trier dopo lo scandalo del 2011, con The House That Jack Built, su un serial killer e con la nuova versione di Fahrenheit 451 di Ramin Barhani con Michael Shannon e Sofia Boutella.
