Con un scelta coraggiosa e sorprendente la Los Angeles Film Critics Association guarda al cinema internazionale e premia il film di Michael Haneke, già Palma d’Oro e migliori film europeo.
Niente da fare per Zero Dark Thirty di Kathryn Bigelow e neppure per Spielberg, Tarantino, Hooper, Russell e Ang Lee.
Amour è il figlior film dell’anno, seguito da The Master che si aggiudica il premio per la migliore regia. I due film si aggiudicano anche tre dei quattro premi per le migliori interpretazioni con Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams ed Emmanuelle Riva (a pari merito con Jennifer Lawrence).
Holy Motors è il miglior film straniero.
Difficile non concordare con premi così ben assegnati e privi finalmente di quello sciovinismo culturale che spesso accompagna le autocelebrazioni hollywoodiane.
