E’ stato Steven Spielberg con la Warner Bros a vincere l’asta per i diritti di It’s What I do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War, il libro scritto dalla fotografa Lynsey Addario che racconta la sua esperienza in Afghanistan subito dopo gli attacchi dell’11 settembre e l’invasione americana.
La protagonista sarà Jennifer Lawrence, la ragazza d’oro di Hollywood.
Il progetto di Spielberg ha battuto la concorrenza di altri due potenziali team: Reese Witherspoon & Darren Aronofsky e Natalie Portman & George Clooney con Grant Heslov.
Così Deadline descrive la sinossi del libro: “She is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists who went to Afghanistan during the post-9/11 invasion of Afghanistan and carved out a niche giving an identity to the victims of conflict. That includes how Afghans suffered during the Taliban regime, the Iraqi War, victims of genocide in Darfur, the rape of women in the Congo. Her work in dangerous locales included her being kidnapped by pro-Quaddafi forces in the Libyan civil war”
