The true story drama will follow Gertrude Bell, the traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the twentieth century who played a crucial role in the development of the Middle East as we know it. Lewis will play Lieutenant Colonel Charles Doughty-Wylie who has an affair with Bell.
