La sceneggiatura è stata scritta da Steve Knight (La promessa dell’assassino). Cooper ha dichiarato: We’ve been talking about this project. I want to do it. It’s a beautiful story. And I love cooking. Ma dopo aver girato American Bullshit di nuovo con David O.Russell si prenderà una pausa per vedere il Roland Garros in maggio. Starà ala forza persuasiva di Harvey Weinstein, che produce Chef, convincerlo a ritornare presto sul set.
