Sarà Victoria Mahoney, regista della seconda unità di Star Wars – L’ascesa di Skywalker a dirigere il sequel di uno degli action più fortunati di Netflix, The Old Guard, interpretato da Charlize Theron, Kiki Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Chiwetel Ejiofor e dal nostro Luca Marinelli.
Gina Prince-Bythewood, la regista del primo episodio, ha ricevuto una vagonata di offerte dopo il successo del film e rinuncerà al secondo.
Il film è tratto dai fumetti di Greg Rucka e Leandro Fernández.
