Dopo Watchmen e il debutto alla regia con One Night in Miami, Regina King tornerà dietro la macchian da presa con Bitter Root, l’adattamento di un fumetto di David F. Walker, Sanford Greene e Chuck Brown.
Secondo The Hollywood Reporter, a produrre il film sarà la Legendary e il film racconterà la storia di una famiglia di colore, durante la Harlem Renaissance degli anni ’20, impegnata a combattere dei mostri.
La sinossi ufficiale recita: “For generations, the Sangeryes have hunted and cured those infected by a supernatural force that feeds off of prejudice and transforms humans into monsters. But with most of the family gone, the remaining Sangeryes disagree over saving or killing the monsters.”
