Out of the furnace è il prossimo film di Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart), interpretato da Christian Bale, Zoe Saldana, Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Casey Affleck, Sam Shepard e Willem Dafoe.
The movie tells the story of an ex-con (Bale) who goes on a hunt to find his brother (Affleck), after he gets mixed up in a crime ring (led by Harrelson) and goes missing as a result.
Secondo quanto Bale ha dichiarato a Entertainment Weekly: “It seemed uplifting and tragic at the same time. In the midst of this crumbling town of Braddock, Pennsylvania, which people were deserting, [Russell] was somebody who was staying, and also staying with principles and loyalty that defined his life, regardless of the consequences. And therefore a very memorable individual.”
Cooper ha dichirato invece: “You often find superheroic people wearing capes and costumes in film today, but working-class Americans are the real heroes. This is the story of this man who works in a blast furnace, but with themes of justice, retribution and courage.”
Eddie Vedder ha scritto una canzone originale per il film.
