Annapurna lo distribuirà negli Stati Uniti il giorno di Natale. E’ il nuovo film di Karin Kusama, un poliziesco intitolato Destroyer con un’irriconoscibile Nicole Kidman.
La Kusama è nota soprattutto per l’esordio di Girlfight, nel quale lanciò la carriera di Michelle Rodriguez, e per gli ultimi Jennifer’s Body e The invitation.
Destroyer è stato lanciato a Telluride a fine agosto ed è poi passato a Toronto e al BFI a Londra. Nel cast ci sono anche Sebastian Stan, Scoot McNairy, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany e Bradley Whitford.
Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.
