Stoker è il nuovo film di Park Chan-wook (Old boy, Lady Vendetta) e segna il suo debutto americano, su una sceneggiatura dell’attore Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) che era nella blacklist.
Il film è interpretato da Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska, Alden Ehrenreich, Jacki Weaver, Matthew Goode, Dermot Mulroney, Lucas Till ed ha una premessa hitchcockiana: a fantastical, fairy tale-like family drama that follows the story of an eccentric teen, India (Wasikowska), whose enigmatic and estranged uncle (Goode) returns to the family after the death of the girl’s father. People, however, start to go missing in her hometown at the same time and she soon discovers that her uncle may be the cause.
L’uscita americana è stata fissata al 1 marzo 2013 da Fox Searchlight, ma i rumors si fanno insistenti su una sua presenza sul Lido, per un’anteprima veneziana.
