La nascita del Saturday Night Live l’11 ottobre 1975 è al centro del nuovo film di Jason Reitman, scritto con Gil Kenan.
Gabriel LaBelle sarà il produttore Lorne Michaels, Cooper Hoffman l’NBC executive Dick Ebersol, Rachel Sennott sarà la scrittrice Rosie Shuster, Dylan O’Brien presterà il suo volto a Dan Aykroyd, Lamorne Morris sarà Garrett Morris, Cory Michael Smith invece ha preso Chevy Chase, Ella Hunt Gilda Radner e Matt Wood interpreterà John Belushi mentre un doppio ruolo è previsto per Nicholas Braun (Andy Kaufman e Jim Henson, il padre dei Muppets).
Nel cast ci saranno anche Matthew Rhys, Finn Wolfhard, J. K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe. Jon Batiste ha scritto le musiche e interpreterà il grande Billy Preston.
Uscirà negli Stati Uniti l’11 ottobre 2024 per Sony per festeggiare i 50 anni dal primo episodio.
