La serie Starz, diretta finora da Amy Seimetz e Lodge Kerrigan è composta da stagioni autonome e autosufficenti: la prima su una studentessa di legge (Riley Keough) con una vita segreta come call girl, la seconda divisa in due storie diverse, una nel mondo della politica e dei lobbisti, l’altra con una protagonista nel programma di protezione dei testimoni.
Questa stagione invece è stata scritta e diretta Anja Marquardt, con Julia Goldani Telles (The Affair) come protagonista.
The third installment of “The Girlfriend Experience” is set amidst the London tech scene and focuses on Iris (Telles), a neuroscience major. As she begins to explore the transactional world of The Girlfriend Experience, Iris quickly learns that her client sessions provide her with a compelling edge in the tech world and vice versa. She then begins to question whether her actions are driven by free will, or something else altogether, and heads down a deep path of exploration.
