Adam McKay impegnato con HBO su due serie, quella sui Lakers dello Showtime e quella su Parasite, dirigerà la sua nuova commedia per Netflix, con Jennifer Lawrence protagonista.
Don’t Look Up è il titolo del film che ha un budget di 75 e che la Paramount, come è accaduto molte volte ultimamente, ha ceduto a Netflix, all’ultimo minuto: “The film tells the story of two scientists that discover a meteor that will strike Earth in six months, leading to a potentially humanity-ending catastrophe. They then go around the world trying to warn people, only to have their news fall on deaf ears”.
McKay è entusiasta di lavorare con la Lawrence, “She’s what folks in the 17th century used to call ‘a dynamite act,’ and the fact that Netflix sees this movie as a worldwide comedy sets the bar high for me and my team in an exciting and motivating way.”
Dopo l’anno sabbatico che l’attrice si è concessa dopo mother! e Red Sparrow, sembra pronta a tornare sul set con un progetto certamente ambizioso.
