Poche ore dopo il rilascio delle prime immagini, ecco anche il trailer del nuovo film firmato da Clint Eastwood.
Rinominato semplicemente Richard Jewell, con il nome del suo vero protagonista, il film è interpretato da Paul Walter Hauser (Tonya) nei panni del protagonista, guardia giurata durante le Olimpiadi di Atlanta del 1996.
Accanto a lui Sam Rockwell e Kathy Bates, Jon Hamm nei panni di un agente dell’FBI che cerca la verità e Olivia Wilde in quelli di una reporter.
Quella di Richard è una storia di oltre vent’anni fa, ma che sembra successa ieri, con il suo corollario di fake news, di giornalismo d’accatto, di eroismi travolti dalle bugie, di verità che si fanno strada solo faticosamente.

The world is first introduced to Richard Jewell as the security guard who reports finding the device at the 1996 Atlanta bombing—his report making him a hero whose swift actions save countless lives. But within days, the law enforcement wannabe becomes the FBI’s number one suspect, vilified by press and public alike, his life ripped apart. Reaching out to independent, anti-establishment attorney Watson Bryant, Jewell staunchly professes his innocence. But Bryant finds he is out of his depth as he fights the combined powers of the FBI, GBI, and APD to clear his client’s name, while keeping Richard from trusting the very people trying to destroy him.
La fotografia in chiaroscuro è del canadese Yves Bélanger, alla sua seconda collaborazione con Eastwood dopo Il corriere – The Mule, così come per il musicista Arturo Sandoval.
Leonardo Di Caprio e Jonah Hill sono tra i produttori del film, che uscirà il 13 dicembre negli States.
