Tra le cose migliori del modesto Aquaman di James Wan spiccava certamente l’attacco subacqueo dei voracissimi Trench.
Subito la Warner/DC ha immaginato di lasciare al regista mano libera per ipotizzare uno spin off dedicato a questa sorta di mostruosi anfibi, sfruttando la vena horror di Wan.
E in effetti il regista è al lavoro: “We, you know, we’re still deep in sort of crafting the script, crafting the story right now so I don’t want to get into that too much, but definitely it’s one that I really want to lean into the horror of it, so it’s going to play more as a monster horror movie then it will as a superhero film, but it’s still definitely part of the ‘Aquaman’ world.”
Torneranno alcuni dei personaggi di Aquaman? Difficile a dirsi.
E’ probabile tuttavia che il film arrivi presto nelle sale, decisamente prima del sequel di Aquaman già calendarizzato per il 2022.
