Uscirà nelle sale il 17 dicembre e poi – forse – Peter Jackson avrà terminato di frantumarci la sua opera colossale iniziata oltre dieci anni fa con Il signore degli anelli – La compagnia dell’anello.
Sarebbero bastati forse 3 film per raccontare le storie dei Baggins. Ne sono usciti 6 di 3 ore con versioni estese.
Il gigantismo smodato di Jackson lo ha reso ricco e famoso. Cinematograficamente sempre più irrilevante però: perchè appena si è distanziato dalla saga di Tolkien ha fallito miseramente. Con un King Kong affetto dagli stessi problemi di gigantismo e con l’adattamento del bellissimo Amabili resti, diventato un pasticcio new age.

Il precedente episodio si era interrotto proprio sul più bello, quando la battaglia col drago Smaug entrava nel vivo.
