Sarà un adattamento del romanzo di Boris Vian, L’ Ecume des jours (The Foam of days – La schiuma dei giorni), il prossimo progetto di Michel Gondry. Dopo la desolante esperienza americana di The Green Hornet, il regista francese ritorna in patria, con un cast di giovani di primissimo livello, capeggiato da Romain Duris (Tutti i battiti del mio cuore, Persecution) e da Audrey Tatou (Amelie).
Ultimamente si sono aggiunti anche Lea Seydoux (Lourdes, Midnight in Paris, Mission:Impossible Protocollo Fantasma) e Gad Elmaleh (Midnight in Paris, Tintin).
The fantastical story follows Colin, the wealthy inventor of olfactory-musical-instrument the pianocktail. He marries Chloe, but unfortunately, she falls ill during their honeymoon thanks to a water lily that enters her lung, and the only way to treat the ailment is to surround her with flowers — and the expense soon drains his funds.
Le riprese dovrebbero cominciare a marzo 2012. Gondry sta terminando The We and I, uno strano documentario collettivo che prende ispirazione dal suo film Be kind rewind.
