Oscar amaro per l’Italia. Come prevedibilissimo Familia di Francesco Costabile rimane fuori dalla gara sin da subito. Niente shortlist per lui.
Risultato atteso per il valore dei film scelti e soprattutto per il fatto che il nostro candidato non ha avuto il sostegno necessario a partecipare ad una gara che ogni anno è più difficile e competitiva, comprendendo i migliori film dell’anno presentati ai festival europei.
Ritroviamo infatti tra i candidati palme e leoni, con un piccolo trionfo di Neon che ha ben 5 titoli su 15. Ma ci sono anche film assai meno conosciuti, da nazioni cinematograficamente deboli. Non riuscire a produrre un serio e credibile candidato e a sostenerlo adeguatamente nella sua corsa all’Oscar, in un intero anno di lavoro è per il nostro Paese un risultato piuttosto modesto.
Certe volte le esclusioni sono immeritate e ingiustificate. Ma in questo caso non ci abbiamo nemmeno provato.
L’unico Italiano nelle liste è Matteo Burani per il corto d’animazione intitolato Playing God. In bocca al lupo!
Il 22 gennaio sapremo i nominati. Conan O’Brian presenterà la Notte degli Osca il 15 marzo prossimo.
