Dopo i 5 Golden Globes ecco altri 8 Critics Choice Awards per il film di Christopher Nolan, dedicato al fisico del Progetto Manatthan: Oppenheimer vince per il miglior film, la regia, l’attore non protagonista, il miglior ensemble, la fotografia, il montaggio, gli effetti visivi e la colonna sonora.
A Barbie toccano i premi tecnici, francamente scippati a Povere creature! di Lanthimos per la sceneggiatura (!!!), la miglior commedia, la scenografia, i costumi, la canzone e il make-up.
I quattro migliori attori sono Paul Giamatti per The Holdovers, Emma Stone per Povere creature!, Robert Downey jr. e Da’Vine Joy Randolph sempre per The Holdovers, che conquista con Dominic Sessa anche il premio per la migliore rivelazione.
Anatomia di una caduta miglior film straniero, confermando che anche questa volta la Francia ha completamente sbagliato il suo candidato agli Oscar.
Nel lungo show che comprendeva anche i premi televisivi, molti riconoscimenti sono stati assegnati lontano dalle telecamere: tutti quelli tecnici.
