E’ tratto dal libro di memorie di Mohamedou Ould Slahi diventato un best seller “Guantánamo Diary.”
Il giornalista Michael Bronner l’ha adattato per il cinema.
Tahar Rahim intepreterà Mohamedou. Accanto a lui ci saranno Benedict Cumberbatch, Jodie Foster, e Shailene Woodley.
Secondo Variety: The movie tells the true story of a fight for survival against all odds. Captured by the U.S. government, Mohamedou Ould Slahi (Rahim) languishes in prison for years without charge or trial. Losing all hope, Slahi finds allies in defense attorney Nancy Hollander (Foster) and her associate Teri Duncan (Woodley). Together, they face countless obstacles in a desperate pursuit for justice. Their controversial advocacy, along with evidence uncovered by formidable military prosecutor Lt. Stuart Couch (Cumberbatch), eventually reveals a shocking and far reaching conspiracy.
Le riprese cominceranno in Sudafrica a dicembre per un’uscita prevedibile a fine 2020.
