1917, il nuovo film del premio Oscar Sam Mendes (American beauty, Revolutionary Road, Skyfall) ambientato nelle trincee della Grande Guerra, è stato girato in un unico piano sequenza, un po’ come accaduto con Birdman di Inarritu e con Arca Russa di Sokurov.
Le nuove tecnologie digitali, consentono quello che una volta sembrava impossibile.
Un nuovo backstage del film chiarisce quello che era stato solo ipotizzato.“There’s no better way to tell this story than with one continuous shot” ha detto Mendes.
“1917 tells the story of two British soldiers that have to go behind enemy lines to deliver a message that could save hundreds of lives”.
I protagonisti sono George MacKay, Dean-Charles Chapman, Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden, Claire Duburcq, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch.
Il film arriverà nelle sale il 25 dicembre negli USa e il 23 gennaio 2020 in Italia.
