Secondo The Hollywood Reporter la Universal dopo Hobbs & Shaw sta esplorando la possibilità di lanciare altri spin-off dalla serie Fast & Furious.
In particolare starebbero lavorando ad un film dedicato a Cipher, il personaggio dell’ottavo episodio interpretato con una certa grinta da Charlize Theron.
“And the studio is exploring other ideas, including a female-fronted ‘Fast and Furious’ spinoff built around Charlize Theron’s character Cipher from ‘The Fate of the Furious.’ The question for Universal, says a rep with important talent in the films, is ‘How do you broaden the franchise? How do you Avengers-ize it?’”
Non è tuttavia la prima volta che si parla di nuovi spin-off dalla serie storica. Vin Diesel aveva anticipato la possibilità di un Fast & Furious tutto al femminile interpretato da Michelle Rodriguez.
Il valore del franchise è ancora altissimo e il prevedibile successo estivo di Hobbs & Shaw potrebbe far rilanciare nuove avventure per la Universal.
