Curioso poi che Malick abbia girato solo 4 film nei primi trentacinque anni di carriera (La rabbia giovane, I giorni del cielo, La sottile linea rossa e The New World) e ben 6 successivamente con The Tree of Life, To the Wonder, Knight of Cups, Voyage of Time, Song to Song e Radegund, le cui riprese sono terminate proprio la scorsa estate.
