Pessime idee da Hollywood: il remake di Fuga da New York diventa una trilogia

I produttori hollywoodiani non la smettono di stupire per le pessime idee.

Joel Silver, il mega produttore di Matrix, Die Hard e Sherlock Holmes, ha deciso di rifare il classico senza tempo di John Carpenter, 1997: Fuga da New York.

Non solo l’idea è orrenda e strampalata, ma lo stesso Carpenter rifece il suo film negli anni ’90 spostando il set a Los Angeles, con esiti infelici.

Silver, per di più, intende trasformalo sin dall’inizio in una trilogia e ibridarlo con un videogioco, Arkham City, in cui si parla di Manhattan come di una prigione circondata da mura.

Secondo Silver: “There was a videogame that came out a few years ago called ‘Arkham City,’ which shows how Gotham became this kind of walled prison and how it became a walled prison. And they never deal with that in the story of ‘Escape from New York,’ so part of our idea was to kind of see how the city became this walled prison and how the Snake Plissken character was a hero and how he became not looked at as a hero. And then, in the middle of the story, would be the movie that we, you know, previously saw about the President’s daughter goes down, he has to go in and get her. And then, you know, they did a sequel, ‘Escape from L.A.,’ but I would like to then kind of find a way to have New York go back to a place that we’d like to see what it is today.”

Inutile dire che Silver confonde i due film di Carpenter e che la figlia del presidente appare nel secondo e non nel primo.

In ogni caso, la nuova trilogia dovrebbe prevedere un primo episodio che mostri come New York sia diventata una prigione e chi sia Snake Plissken, quindi seguirebbero le storie già raccontate nei due film di Carpenter, entrambe girate a New York.

A noi sembra una solenne…
