Ben Affleck è diventato il Re Mida di Hollywood.
La Warner Bros è ai suoi piedi e gli lascia carta bianca su ogni progetto.
Dopo l’Oscar per Argo, è impegnato come attore sul set di Gone Girl di David Fincher, quindi sarà Batman per la Warner nel sequel de L’uomo d’acciaio, infine adatterà un romanzo di Dennis Lehane, Live by Night, sugli anni del proibizionismo.
Nel 2015 però vorrebbe girare un progetto che ha corteggiato da molti anni. Nel 2010 affermava infatti: “I would love to make a movie about Congo, but unfortunately I’ve asked Hollywood folks and they always say, ah, nobody wants to see a movie about Africa.”
Il film invece si farà, la Warner ha dato l’OK ed ha assunto Will Staples per scrivere la sceneggiatura, che dovrebbe restare nella scia di The Constant Gardener e Syriana.
Affleck ha parlato anche del ruolo del Cavaliere Oscuro, che erediterà da Christian Bale: “Initially, I was reluctant as I felt I didn’t fit the traditional mold. But once Zack [Snyder] showed me the concept, and that it would be both different from the great movies that Chris [Nolan] and Christian [Bale] made, but still in keeping with tradition, I was excited,” he told 411 Mania. “Doing something different and new is always tricky and part of the thrill and the risk is that initially it confounds expectations. The truth is, it’s the movie and the execution of it is what all the actors depend on and I believe in Zack’s vision.”
