I Golden Globes ci consegnano tre frontrunners: nove candidature per Una battaglia dopo l’altra di Paul Thomas Anderson, curiosamente nella categoria commedia/musical, che centra quasi tutte le categorie e vede nominati tutti e cinque i suoi attori (DiCaprio, Penn, Del Toro, Infiniti e Taylor). Subito dietro Sentimental Value con 8 tra cui quelle per i quattro attori (Reinsve, Skarsgaard, Lilleas e Fanning). Terzo I Peccatori di Coogler con 7, poi Hamnet con 6.
Trionfo per i film Neon con quattro film – Un semplice incidente, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, No Other Choice – tra i dodici migliori dell’anno. Addirittura nelal categoria dei migliori film stranieri Neon conquista cinque candidature su sei con Sirat che si aggiunge altri altri quattro.
Doppia candidatura per Linklater con entrambi i suoi film: Blue Moon e Nouvelle Vague.
I sei migliori registi sono Paul Thomas Anderson e Ryan Coogler, Guillermo Del Toro e Jafar Panahi, Joachim Trier e Chloé Zhao: quattro su sei sono nati fuori dagli Stati Uniti.
Neon ha sbancato la concorrenza cinematografica con 21 candidature. Warner Bros è seconda con 16 e Netflix terza con 13.
Netflix e Warner Bros guidano con 35 e 31 candidature tra cinema e tv: dall’anno prossimo saranno assieme?
La categoria nuova dedicata al Cinematic and Box Office achievementsi dimostra ridicola una volta di più: tra i candidati Avatar 3 che non è ancora uscito in sala e Kpop Demon Hunters che in sala ci è arrivato solo in limited release e per un periodo limitatissimo, dopo il lancio su Netflix.
Gli sconfitti? Sicuramente Wicked Parte 2 che ha mancato clamorosamente la candidatura per il miglior musical. Ma anche Kathryn Bigelow e il suo A House of Dynamite e in generale i prodotti Netflix che escono con 13 nominations complessive, ma spalmate su cinque film diversi – Frankenstein, Train Dreams, Jay Kelly, Kpop, Nouvelle Vague – con una serie candidature a spot di scarso significato.
La cerimonia di premiazione sarà l’11 gennaio prossimo su CBS e Paramount+: Host, anche quest’anno, l’innocua Nikki Glaser.
