Trionfo anche agli Independent Spirit Awards per Anora di Sean Baker, che conquista i premi per il miglior film dell’anno, per Mikey Madison come miglior attrice e per la migliore regia.
I segnali di un successo imminente anche la prossima settimana agli Oscar ci sono ormai tutti per il film vincitore della Palma d’Oro a Cannes. In fondo, dopo le polemiche che hanno travolto Emilia Pèrez e la lunghezza punitiva che ha scoraggiato i votanti con The Brutalist, Anora rappresenta il film che meglio è riuscito ad interpretare il nuovo spirito dei tempi americano, tra rampolli idioti di ricchissimi oligarchi, spogliarelliste avide e individualiste, colpi di testa e il brusco risveglio della realtà che viene a chiedere il conto delle follie di Las Vegas, riportando l’ordine sociale ed economico.
Non siamo appassionati delle letture troppo politiche, ma è indubbio che il film di Sean Baker, sia pure in modo del tutto involontario, rappresenti uno squarcio interessante della nuova America MAGA.
A Kieran Culkin il premio per il miglior non protagonista e a Jesse Eisenberg quello per la sceneggiatura, entrambi per A Real Pain.
