David Simon, il creatore di una delle più importanti serie tv del nuovo secolo, The Wire, dopo aver raccontato la New Orleans post Katrina con Treme, ha lavorato ad un nuovo progetto ambientato negli anni ’60 dei diritti civili. Il primo episodio sarà diretto da Paul Haggis ed il protagonista sarà Oscar Isaac.
La storia ruota attorno ad un giovane sindaco “in the 1960s who is faced with a federal court order requiring that he build a small number of low-income housing units in his town’s Caucasian neighborhoods. His attempt to do so tears the entire city apart, paralyzes the entire municipal government and, ultimately, destroys him and his political future.”
Co-protagonista sarà Catherine Keener.
La miniserie è basata sul libro “Show Me A Hero” di Lisa Belkin.
