Deve ancora uscire in sala Enemy, il primo film diretto da Villeneuve con Jake Gyllehaal e tratto da un romanzo di Saramago. Ma il regista canadese, dopo il successo di Prisoners, è già pronto a tornare sul set per dirigere l’adattamento di un racconto di fantascienza di Ted Chiang, “The Story Of Your Life.”
La sceneggiatura è stata scritta da Eric Heisserer (“The Thing,” “Final Destination 5”): the story follows a linguist hired by the military to communicate with an alien craft to try and figure out why they’ve come to Earth. And in the course of her communication with the aliens, she has flashbacks that could reveal the answer of why have arrived.
Sembrerebbe un film nelle corde di Villeneuve, che è pronto a girare a fine anno. Non ci sono ancora notizie sugli attori coinvolti nel progetto.
